photo (8)I visited The Original Maids of Honour (recommended by the lovely Sneaky Magpie) over the weekend and was instantly charmed. The interior borders on the rather too twee, with painted pink walls, floral curtains, willow pattern china and knick-knacks displayed along the walls and on the fireplace. There is, however, a real charm to the place – one feels Miss Marple could be sitting in the corner with some knitting, and it’s easy to forget you are not in fact in a cosy Dorset country village. The Sunday roast was inexpensive and passable, however, it’s clear the real winners are the scrumptious looking afternoon teas, cakes and pies. If you fancy a trip to Kew, then I’d definitely recommend stopping by the Original Maids. – Miranda
