No trip to New York could be complete without a walk along the Highline. It runs downwards from 34rd street, along 10th and 11th avenues, and is an elevated garden built on the abandoned railroad tracks above the streets of the Meatpacking district. It’s a beautiful walk, offering a completely different visual perspective of the city while allowing you to see the gradual changes in architecture as you move from the Lower to the Middle sections of Manhattan. Along the way, hop off at 14th street and walk back the 5 blocks to 9th street, where you’ll find Chelsea Market, a fabulous indoor shopping centre filled with delicious eateries and fancy boutiques. – Rachel
