My sister just moved house, and at the bottom of her new garden are bushes upon bushes of beautiful bulbous berries, just ripe for the picking. This afternoon the babies and I gathered bowls and bowls of gooseberries; not normally my favourite fruit, but cooked, crushed, cooled and folded into vanilla cream? A divine blend of sharp and sweet smoothness ensues. The perfect dessert for a summer evening. – Rachel
