My favourite history lessons at school were about Mary Queen of Scots. Daring, brave, intelligent, passionate and entirely committed to her cause, she came leaping out of the pages of my history textbook. I imagined myself playing her in a film; I’d have waist length red hair and an amazing corset, and I’d certainly show Elizabeth I who was boss with my lively repartee. Despite actually knowing very little about her beyond the legends, Mary is a heroine of mine, and I’d love to go to Edinburgh to see this new exhibition about her life. Perhaps a weekend break will be on the cards soon! – Rachel
