Pat Shortt and Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan, Noel Coward, London

I wanted to hate Daniel Radcliffe in this play, so that I could continue to berate him for being less talented yet more wealthy and successful than me. Sadly, I have to grudgingly admit, as credit where credit’s due and all that, Daniel Radcliffe was actually very good. He even pulls off a convincing Irish accent. The boy actor has grown into a competent and convincing performer, and The Cripple of Inishmaan is a funny yet also incredibly moving and thought provoking play, with an outstanding cast. As far as I’m aware, there are still plenty of £10 seats available, so do try and go if you can. It’s one of the best plays I’ve seen in a long time. – Rachel
