Miranda and I both adored this beautiful and very moving evocation of the loss of childhood’s innocence, told through the lives of Alice Liddell, inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Llewellyn-Davies, inspiration for Peter Pan. Judi Dench was Judi Dench, of course, but Ben Whishaw was wonderful as the vulnerable Peter, haunted and broken by the experiences of his childhood, and his struggle to separate himself from the legend of the boy who never grew up. There is so much to take away from this brief yet brilliant play; do try and get tickets if you can. – Rachel
