I’ve been flicking through Vita Sackville-West’s brilliant contribution to the Britain in Pictures series over the past few nights. I’ve learned about many wonderful houses I would love to visit, such as Audley End, Burton Constable, Sandford Orcas and the recently rescued Seaton Delaval. I am no fan of the aristocracy, but I do love a country house. What true Brit can resist an opportunity to poke their nose around in someone else’s rooms, especially when there’s the promise of tea and cake at the end?! I quite fancy using this book as a tour guide for some adventures, starting during the Easter holidays. Audley End will be first on my list! – Rachel
