Sunshine! I had almost forgotten it existed until, driving to work this morning, I saw golden rays steal around the edges of the hazy fog and gently lift it away to reveal blue skies. At school the grass borders are now filled with colourful crocuses and daffodils that I wanted to scoop up and pour into vases to decorate my windowsill as I trotted past on my way to class. The sun warmed my back as I taught, and when I walked across the playground to the staffroom I didn’t even need my coat. The air smelled sweeter and fresher; the sky was brighter; the weight of winter had lifted and I felt full of joy. I am sure it will rain tomorrow. But today was definitely the start of Spring. Time for a new wardrobe, perhaps? – Rachel
I adore spring flowers. The tulips we planted last fall (just as a snow storm was on its way in!) are beginning to peek through the soil. I can’t wait until they’re all in bloom.
oh, me too! Armfuls of tulips are just heaven!
I loved the picture you drew with your words, Rachel. A most satisfying breif read in the midle of my busy Saturday. Thank you
